I found something incredible on the internet that I wanted to share with everyone. What I am about to present you is apparently what the fictional  character of Bruce Wayne did as a training regimen to become Batman. Remember also that Bruce Wayne is super freakin’ rich so he essentially has access to anything and everything. This would mean he would have no problem eating a high quality 5,000-7,000 calories a day just to keep up with his ridiculous Batman workout. I like to think that I am in very good shape and can do a lot of things. I don’t know if I would be able to do this. Apparently an “off day” in the Batman workout consists of a 20 mile run at 4:50 mile pace followed by 3 and a half hours of specific Batman skill training. 20 miles at 4:50?! Yeah, I’m out. I would love to see the 6’2, 195 pound guy that could do that. Crunches – 5 sets of 50 reps (Good thing we’re getting these in still.)

30 Minutes Pommel Horse (Oh, so I have to be a swimmer, incredible 20 mile sprinter, boxer, proficient in all weapons, and a gymnast?)

1/4 Mile Swim (Seems like a solid way to wrap up the day)

 My Thoughts On The Batman Workout

Okay, there you have it. If you want to be completely, super bad-ass there’s the Batman workout. I would LOVE to hear people’s thoughts on this. I honestly do not believe it is possible. There is not an athlete on Earth that could do this. I would however like to try to get through one week. I obviosuly would have to change the weights to be lighter so I wouldn’t be doing it 100%, but just to get through this would be an unbelievable athletic accomplishment.

I think the most difficult part is how many different skills you essentially need to master in order to properly complete this routine. Like 30 minutes on a pommel horse, for instance. Seriously? How many pro gymnasts even spend that much time on horse. An Olympic pommel horse routine is around two minutes on the long end. I don’t even know what I would do with myself for 30 minutes on a pommel horse. The running on Wednesday is also a little bit silly. There are people that train for Marathons that cannot run 20 miles in 1:36:40.20 (4:50 mile pace). To give you an idea, Stephen Kiprotich, the Gold Medal winner in this summer’s Olympics in the marathon finished the 26.2 mile race (not run, race) in 2:08:01. This means he averaged 4:52 for his miles. So, okay, Batman is a massive, jacked MAN (Around 6’1″ 210 pounds) and you expect him to run 2 secondsfaster than the Olympic gold medalist in the marathon!? On an off day! Are you nuts?! That’s my biggest problem with the Batman workout.

I am, however, very intrigued by this training regime. It makes you wonder if the human body is capable of being a superhero like Batman with the right training, skill expertise, and unlimited amount of money. Realistically, we’ll never know.
